THE RECIPES

6 Yummy Recipes That Hop on the Mini Trend

Mini is having a moment. We’re not sure why—maybe it’s the quest for smaller-sized bites that tuck neatly into school lunchboxes—but whatever the reason, we couldn’t let the trend pass us by without throwing our recipes into the ring. From savoury mains to tiny sweet treats, we’ve rounded up six of our favourite mini recipes that prove small can still be mighty.

THE GRANDPARENTS

Is There Special Social Media Etiquette for Grandparents?

When grandparents step into the social media world, a little thoughtfulness goes a long way. Above all else, asking permission before posting is essential—not only for privacy, but also to respect the wishes of your children and grandchildren. It’s also wise to think twice before sharing:

  • Scan for and remove identifiable info, like school logos or house addresses.

  • Be sensitive on platforms—don’t take it personally if older kids or teens don’t want to be tagged, or don’t warmly receive likes or comments on posts about them.

  • Don’t include any embarrassing or private stories or memories in the caption without clearing them first, no matter how funny or cute you might think they are.

THE QUESTION BOX

Does Sibling Birth Order Really Matter?

Is your eldest the “responsible one”? Does your middle child play peacemaker? And is your youngest the family comedian? Sibling order theory suggests our place in a family can shape who we are—at least to some degree. Firstborns are said to be leaders, middle children the negotiators and youngest kids the charmers (only children are often in a category on their own and carry traits of both oldest and youngest). But how much of this is biology, and how much is stereotype? Tap the link below for a closer look at the research—and read tips for supporting each child’s individuality—so you can decide for yourself.
