THE RECIPE: Our Favourite One-Bowl Banana Bread 😋🍌👨🏽‍🍳

You know what we love about banana bread? It’s good year-round. Pumpkin cake and apple muffins have their moments in the fall, but banana bread is perfection in every season. It definitely makes a dreary November day better, that’s for sure.

We’re big fans of this banana bread recipe in particular because it only uses one bowl (no one’s got time for more dishes than necessary). You mash the bananas and mix in a few other ingredients you probably already have in your pantry, pour into a loaf pan and toss it in the oven. We love that it’s easily customizable, too—chocolate chips FTW.

Here’s what you’ll need for this easy, delicious recipe:

🍌 Very ripe bananas (obviously)
🍌 White or brown sugar
🍌 An egg
🍌 Canola or flax oil
🍌 Vanilla
🍌 Flour
🍌 Baking soda
🍌 Salt

THE READ: Stop Saying That Sleep Training is Abandonment 💤🧑🏼‍🍼🥱

We’re generally of the “live and let live” mindset when it comes to parenting. As parenting editors, we know that there is no “right way” to care for your child, as long as you’re making the decisions that your gut tells you are best for their wellbeing. That said, there are some pretty hot-button issues out there that generate a lot of buzz in the parenting sphere. Sleep training is at the top of the heap. Whether you sleep train or not isn’t really the question; it’s the implication that you’re harming your child if you do.

“Sleep training is not toxic stress. Let me repeat that: Sleep training does not induce a toxic stress response from your child.”
—Alanna McGinn

Sleep expert Alanna McGinn of Goodnight Sleep Site wants to hammer home the message that sleep training isn’t damaging. When you teach your kids to catch zzz’s on their own, you’re teaching them that they are capable. Sleep training is not on the same level as traumatic stress, like neglect.
