⬇️ This week: How quickly do vasectomies work?

THE RECIPE

Easy Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Tacos

Tacos are one of our favourite weeknight meals for a few reasons: 1) They’re pretty easy to pull together; 2) They’re customizable, so less complaining from choosy easters; 3) They’re tacos. Who doesn’t love tacos?!

This pulled pork version has one more thing going for it, too. You can set it and forget it. Toss pork shoulder into the slow cooker with some salsa and a few extra seasonings and that’s it. TIP: This recipe works with chicken thighs and stewing beef, too!

THE POLL

This is really worth a watch!

Are You Conscious of How You Talk About Your Body Around Your Kids? 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧

Many parents are surprised to learn that their physical insecurities can have an impact on how their kids view their own bodies. But Gen Z (kids born between 1997 and 2012) and Gen Alpha (kids born in the year 2012 and after) are poised to break this generational messaging if parents start to practice body acceptance (unconditional self-love) or body neutrality (a focus on what the body can do, rather than what it looks like). So, we want to know—is this something that’s already on your radar? Tell us in the poll below!

THE QUESTION BOX

How Quickly Do Vasectomies Work?

First things first, for those of you who don’t really know what a vasectomy is: This procedure involves clipping and tying (or stitching) the vas deferens—the tube in the penis through which sperm travels. No sperm, no baby. Easy peasy. Vasectomies have a better than 99 percent success rate.

But many couples want to know how soon after a vasectomy is safe to have unprotected intercourse. There are two parts to this answer: Men can usually have sex again about two weeks after the procedure, but that doesn’t mean you can ditch the birth control just yet. It takes about 15 ejaculations before semen is free of sperm. (In fact, many doctors will run a sperm sample a few weeks or months after a vasectomy to be sure the vasectomy has been successful.) Take precautions until you’re officially in the clear.
