The Easiest Cake Pops Ever (April 2, 2024)

Ready. Set. Go!

THE RECIPE

Super-Simple (and Super Tasty!) Cake Pops

We consider ourselves experts in birthday planning hacks and tips (we did a deep dive into this subject last year, to create our Ultimate Guide to Kids’ Birthday Parties). We have to tell you—cake pops are the easiest sweet treat going. A storebought cake mix + storebought frosting + storebought sprinkles = a looks-like-homemade dessert the kiddos will love.

THE POLL

Do You Watch Your Mouth in Front of Your Kids?

In our generation, it was a very real threat that your mom or dad might wash your mouth out with soap if they heard you say a bad word. These days, it seems to vary by family. Some parents watch their Ps and Qs closely, while others teach their kids that what they hear is adult language that isn’t to be repeated. We don’t judge, but we are curious: Do you swear in front of your kids?

THE QUESTION BOX

Can You Seriously Rub Booze on a Baby’s Sore Gums?

Oh, your mother-in-law is chirping in your ear, isn’t she? We’ve all heard it: Rub a little whiskey on a teething baby’s gums to soothe them and ease the pain.

We’re guessing you’ve already figured this out, but don’t give your baby booze. Full-stop. Sure, this was an at-home remedy back in the day, but we know better now. Infant formula Advil or Tylenol are your friends here, once your doctor has given you the go-ahead. You can also trying a frozen teething ring or a mesh fresh-food feeder with a frozen strawberry in it, once they are old enough for solids.
