It’s Soup Season! 7 Delicious, Cozy Recipes to Try This Fall
Soup is the busy family’s unsung hero. Truly. Sure, some recipes can take some time, depending on the prep required, but they’re usually naturally big-batch recipes, they often freeze beautifully and they work well for lunches and suppers.
Tap the button below for seven of our favourite soup recipes. Here’s a sneak peek!
Creamy Gnocchi Soup
Roasted Tomato and Red Pepper Soup
Thai-Inspired Chicken Soup
Maple-Roasted Butternut Squash Soup
Immune-Boosting Flavour Bomb Noodle Soup
🍲 Not sure what to do with the turkey bones from Thanksgiving? Make soup! Toss the turkey carcass into a large stock pot with an onion, a few carrots and a few stalks of celery. Fill with water until about an inch from the top of the pot. Simmer on low for four or five hours (you can even do this in a crock pot on low overnight). Strain the bones and veg, salt and pepper to taste and you’ll have perfect base for soup.

THE DIAPER
When preparing for the arrival of your newest family addition, parents are inundated with many decisions, including selecting the best products for their baby’s wellbeing. With so many options on the market, it can be overwhelming to know where to begin. Especially when these decisions often require a compromise – finding a diaper that keeps your little ones’ leaks contained, or one that won’t irritate their delicate newborn skin.
THE POLL
What Are Your Essential Items for Traveling with a Newborn?
We’ve all been there — jamming the car with everything from the baby swing to the pack ‘n’ play for a simple afternoon at Grandma and Grandpa’s. After a while, you figure out what you really need and manage to whittle the packing list down to just the essentials, but those first few trips are stressful (and crowded).
We want your help! We’re creating a travel gear list for new parents, so maybe they can avoid packing everything but the kitchen sink (because you KNOW some of us packed the bath tub.) Give us your advice and weigh in below.

The results of last week’s poll:
Do you have any hacks for keeping up with laundry?
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Nope. I wish. (62.5%)
🟨🟨🟨⬜️⬜️⬜️ Yes! (PLEASE tell us more, we're begging you.) (37.5%)
We’ll be compiling all of your genius responses into an article very soon, but here are a few of the highlights from our readers:
“I wash two loads every weekend and I no longer fold clothes. Only way to stay on top of it. It’s put away in drawers but not folded anymore.”
“It's not really a hack but I've honestly done the same routine from infant through to now teen. Laundry days are Saturday/Sunday. If you want or need something washed in between then, see the laundry lady. Otherwise, it'll get done on the weekend.”
“Each day of the week is for a different family member/ category….it takes a little discipline to complete the task each day (wash, fold, put away) but it’s sooo worth it to stay on top of it!”
THE QUESTION BOX
My Kid is Kind of Afraid of Trick-or-Treating—How Do We Still Make Halloween Fun?
Most of us grew up thinking that trick-or-treating is the gold standard in Halloween celebrations, but not every kid loves traipsing around the neighbourhood all dressed up. Little kids especially can be easily scared by spooky costumes and decorations. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t fun to be had. Here are some non-trick-or-treating activities you can plan for Halloween night instead:
An at-home scavenger hunt
A festive fashion show
A zombie makeover station
A Halloween baking session
A family decorating competition
