Canadians, rallying behind the battle cry "elbows up,” are seeking out local, homegrown products in order to support their own. But that’s not to say that shopping Canadian is a breeze either, and we know it can be a challenge for families to find Canuck substitutes for products they rely on.

THE QUESTION BOX
Should I Be Worried About the Measles?
If you haven’t yet seen this issue in the news, the country is currently seeing a concerning uptick in the number of confirmed cases of the measles. Given that this illness was deemed eliminated in Canada in 1998, parents are justifiably worried about this highly contagious viral disease.
What we know so far:
At the time of publication, there were 146 confirmed cases and 22 probable cases.
This is more than all of last year total.
The US is putting up similar numbers and there has been one confirmed fatality south of the border.
The majority of cases are occurring in the unvaccinated.
What you can do to protect your family:
Ensure your children receive the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine as per your province’s immunization schedule.
Keep up with public health advisories, especially if travelling internationally.
Consult your family's healthcare team if you have concerns about vaccinations or symptoms a family member is exhibiting.
